ON-LINE PAYMENTS
~ THE TOWN OF EAST BRIDGEWATER ~
~ ANNOUNCES ON-LINE PAYMENTS ~

We are excited to offer residents in our community a new, convenient on-line method to pay your real estate tax and personal property tax bills via the Internet.

Simply access the website [ www.mcc.net ], register and set up your own login account. You will then be able to view your bill and make an on-line payment using either an electronic check transaction (ACH) that charges your checking or savings account directly or use your debit or credit card to make the payment.  Master Card, Visa, American Express & Discover are accepted. There is no fee for registering and setting up your account and only you can access your account and related bills. There is however, a 25-cent charge to pay by electronic check transaction (ACH) or if you pay by credit or debit card, there will be an additional fee determined and disclosed to you prior to you authorizing payment.

This process is easy, convenient, and secure and will be available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  It is expected to be ready for use by  Wednesday December 10th , if not sooner.

As always, payment may be made in person during business hours at the Collector’s Office in Town Hall by cash or check.  Sorry, we cannot accept credit or debit cards at the Collector’s Office at this time. Payment by check or money order can be mailed in by utilizing the window return envelope that you receive with your tax bill.  A collections box is located on the outside wall to the left side of the main doors at Town Hall for after hours drop off of payments. Check or Money Order only for those payments.

Tax bills will be mailed on Friday December 5th and payment must be received by Monday January 5th, 2004.  The Collector’s Office will be open from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm on Monday January 5, 2004.  Under Massachusetts Law, payments received after that date must incur interest charges from December 5, 2003 to the date of payment @ 14% interest rate.

If you have any questions regarding the mailing or payment of the tax bills, please call the Collector’s Office at 508-378-1602.  Questions regarding assessing issues such as values, abatement, exemption, etc, should be directed to the Assessor’s Office at 508-378-1609.
